The last decade has seen an explosion in the craft beer industry in Ireland. With the amount of craft beer being consumed in Ireland on the rise I am going to highlight the best breweries that are producing some of the top craft beers. This list includes breweries based in all four provinces of Ireland so wherever you are in our country one of these beers shouldn't be too far away!
Changing jobs or going back to education as a mature student in your late twenties can be a huge challenge and worry for a lot of people contemplating it. In summer 2019 I did both of those things, joining the Bord Bia International Graduate Programme, undertaking an MSc in Global Business Practice in UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School alongside getting hands-on experience of working in the Irish food, drink and horticulture industry. In the following blog I have set out my experience so far – from money to work and education – and why I am delighted with my decision to take that step.
For years Ireland and the Irish people have been well known for so many great things. We have produced some of the greatest sports stars, some of the most successful musicians and some of the most talented poets and storytellers the world has seen. The scenery of our beautiful countryside and the welcoming spirits of our people has long been some of our most famous characteristics. The stereotypes that we all just eat potatoes and have red hair and freckles are some of the most well-known stereotypes of any people around the world. But above all else, the Irish people are said to have a love for drink like no one else and while this may or may not be true, Ireland does know how to produce some of the best drink you’ll ever taste. We’re going to have a look at some of Ireland's best and most famous breweries and distilleries.
You are probably just about to finish college and are starting to look for the right post graduate opportunity. You are also probably finding that it can be quite daunting and difficult. Trust me, I know the struggle, I was in your shoes this time last year. You might find yourself not completely sure what you would like to do. Do you want to go traveling for a year? Do you want to go straight into a job or do you want to complete a masters or further education? This was the exact position I found myself in.
