My name is Evelyn Lee and I was born and raised in Perth, Australia. I study a Master of Management at University of Sydney, which allowed me to join the CEMS program. In the CEMS program, I spent a year on exchange; a semester abroad at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, and finally a semester at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, in Dublin, Ireland. I would definitely say this experience has changed my life- as I can truly say I am a global citizen and have opened my mind to understanding different cultures, languages and most importantly people. Unfortunately, it was cut a little short due to the Covid-19 situation, but in this blog, I’d like to share how CEMS Club Dublin was an integral part of my master degree experience.

Every year, the Presidents from each CEMS Club gather in a unique city for the annual CEMS Club Conference. The main objective of this event is to share best practices between each other and the student board. Presidents are sponsored their flights to the conference andit is one of the highlights of being a CEMS Club President. This blog explains how the conference went this year, before the storm of Covid-19 hit most countries.

24 CEMS Club Presidents and 3 organising members from the Student Board gathered in the beautiful city of Warsaw for the Spring 2020 CCC this year. Due to the special situation of corona virus, not everybody could attend in person, but luckily our CEMS Club Dublin President, Kat Cupova was able to fly for the weekend and represent us. During the two-day conference, Presidents and Student Board Representatives shared best practices on event management, sustainability efforts, and club management while also discussing local and global issues impacting the world and the CCs around the world. The conference was supported by CEMS Corporate Partner ZEB consulting who sponsored the winners of the CEMS Club Awards.

Hey guys and welcome back to our blog!

Today’s post is all about free things to do in Dublin (when you’re not busy flying to everywhere else in Europe and making use of those Ryanair discounts!)

There is plenty to see and do in the city – and even just outside Dublin as we venture into Wicklow – but we know you’ve probably heard of the touristy spots by now (The Guinness Storehouse, The Viking Splash, Kilmainham Gaol, Trinity College and so on). So we’ve come up with three weekend ideas to tick off your Dublin exchange student bucket list, that you may not have discovered just yet!

My Study Abroad Experience in Hong Kong

I spent the spring semester of 2019 on exchange in the Chinese University of Hong Kong, which is in fact located in Hong Kong, a ‘special administrative region’ of China. I made the call to do the exchange during the previous summer, with the prospect of jetting off to somewhere completely different culture-wise on a pass/fail system being too attractive to turn down. It’s hard to pinpoint why exactly Hong Kong was the destination of choice, but I think it’s perfect for anyone looking to venture in Asia while still keeping hold of certain Western aspects of life.
