Changing jobs or going back to education as a mature student in your late twenties can be a huge challenge and worry for a lot of people contemplating it. In summer 2019 I did both of those things, joining the Bord Bia International Graduate Programme, undertaking an MSc in Global Business Practice in UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School alongside getting hands-on experience of working in the Irish food, drink and horticulture industry. The Erasmus program designed to facilitate the interaction of many different cultures around the world. I had previously participated in an exchange program in 2017 to Denmark, and this was incredibly influential in developing myself. It was an amazing experience that left me with many incredible friends and life-changing experiences. After concluding this year abroad, I began my university journey in my home country of Australia, but I never forgot about my time overseas and I was excited once again venture outside of my country and comfort zone. Ireland was my first choice in the selection process, and I am very happy that I was given the opportunity to travel to this beautiful country.
