Whether you’re a lover of beef, chicken, veggies or all of the above don’t worry guys I’ve got you covered with a burger for every occasion. Here are my 8 MUST TRY burgers for 2020!
1. Bunsen - The Friend Burger

People are absolutely OBSESSED with this burger chain and it is not difficult to see why. Bunsen make their own buns, grind their own beef and their shakes are to DIE for. I have christened this burger ‘the friend burger’ because it is a great place to meet friends for a quick lunch and a good catch up. This restaurant boasts a cosy and comfortable atmosphere, perfect for checking in and having a chat.

2. Mad Egg – The Chicken Burger

If you’re a fan of a chicken burger, look no further. Mad Egg’s fried chicken is both juicy AND crispy and the Mad Egg restaurants boast a great atmosphere, service and value for money. I would highly recommend the G.O.A.T chicken burger (you are what you eat!). If you have a sweet tooth make sure to try out the DIY cheesecake – I can assure you, you won’t regret it!

3. Five Guys – The Casual Burger

If you are looking for somewhere to enjoy a casual burger with friends, Five Guys are most certainly your guys! The beef burgers and fries are excellent, the service is speedy and the staff are super helpful. However, I would not recommend the veggie burger, it was completely tasteless and accompanied by weird cheese. As far as fast food goes, Five Guys is pretty good.

Price: From €9
Rating: 3/5
4. Happy Food – The Vegan Burger

There are more vegan restaurants in Dublin now than ever before. It has never been easier to go meat-free and if you are in the mood for a good veggie burger, boy do I have just the place for you. The Happy Food restaurant. This plant-based restaurant does meat-free versions of absolutely everything from curries to fry ups. Their burger however, is out of this world. The ‘Whopper Burger’ is made with black bean, sweet potato and Portobello mushroom and let me tell you, vegan never tasted so good.

5. Featherblade – The First Date Burger

Personally I feel burger eating shouldn’t take place until the 5th or 6th date (i.e the point of no return), but for all you loved up burger heads out there, fret not Featherblade is a great first date restaurant with equally great burgers to match. Featherblade is a quiet restaurant with a peaceful ambiance and this makes it a fabulous place to get to know someone over a nice glass of vino and a juicy burger.

6. FX Buckley – The Posh Burger

Looking to celebrate a birthday? A promotion? An anniversary? Literally anything?! Get up, get out and go to FX Buckley. Perfectly cooked, perfectly proportioned toppings and perfectly tender = the perfect burger. You will definitely not regret visiting this renowned steakhouse. The cocktails are also divine and the early bird 2 course meal for €25 definitely makes this experience affordable. Would 10/10 recommend to a friend.

7. Eddie Rockets – The Traditional Burger

When I think of the ‘traditional diner’ type restaurant, Eddie Rockets always comes to mind. The food is quick, easy and really affordable. The burgers are always good and their milkshakes are out of this world. The juke boxes around the restaurant really add to the aesthetic of the place and it’s nice to take a leap back in time and listen to music from the 50s, 60s and 70s. Eddie Rockets is both charming and timeless (and so are the burgers).

If you’re like me and get major munchies after a night out on the town, then you’ll know that the only way to satisfy these cravings is to give in to them. That’s right, embrace the munchies. My go to hangover burger is definitely the WOW Hamburger. Not only are the burgers dirt cheap but they are juicy, greasy and perfectly cooked. What’s not to love? Veggie option also available. This American style burger will definitely sort out your hangover and satisfy those cravings. Pair that burger with a shake and you will love yourself forever (well until the next time you wake up with that same hungover feeling).
