We reveal the best places in Dublin to get your not only pretty but tasty cocktail.
If you follow us on Instagram or Facebook you probably know that we have been researching the perfect spot for cocktails in the city centre.
As we all know, Dublin has changed a lot in the last few years. Now it is not only about the traditional Irish pubs and pints as the biggest trend at the moment is the explosion of great cocktail options.
We decided to choose 8 popular places and select our top five based on taste, decoration and price.
1. Zozimus Bar Cocktail Bar, Cocktails, €€€
Their cocktail selection offered a good palette of styles and spirits. What we loved was the small illustrations of each cocktail, so you were able to see how it would look like as well as the ingredients in each one.
As we were struggling to decide what to get we asked the bartender Valdas to advise us which cocktail to get.
Address: Centenary House, Anne's Ln, Anne St S, Dublin, D02 AK30
Atmosphere:
Modern & Classy
2. The Camden Deluxe Cocktail Bar, Cocktails, $$
Do we all remember The Palace? Well, a couple of months ago The Palace was renamed as The Camden and we're not exaggerating when we say this is one of the hottest venues in Dublin.
We decided to taste their cocktails skills, the place was busy enough and we thought they were not going to put enough effort into our drinks BUT we were wrong. The cocktails were delicius, the presentation was nice and the price was surprisingly affordable.
For sure, a place to be recommended and a place to go back to.
Address: 84-87 Camden Street Lower, Saint Kevin's, Dublin, D02 DH36
Atmosphere:
Young, modern & fun
3. Odeon Cocktail Bar, Cocktails, €€
We decided to go to this classy and very popular bar in Dublin to see how cocktails are done here.
We picked 3 popular ones which were the Mai Tai, Ultima G&T and Strawberry Daiquiri.
As now, we know a bit more about how to rate them we were happy enough with the taste but a bit disappointed with the decoration. Therefore, we decided to have this place in number 3 on our list.
Address: 57 Harcourt St, Saint Kevin's, Dublin 2, D02 VE22
Atmosphere:
Fancy & Classy
4. Drury Buildings Cocktail Bar, Cocktails, €€€
Since they opened back in 2014, Drury Buildings’ cocktail bar is well known as a "prime" place. The inside of the bar is simple and classy, perfect for a Friday night. We decided to ask the bartender to give us their 3 most popular ones. As well as we decided to mention that one of us has lactose intolerance and she was ok with it.
We are placing Drury Buildings in the number 4 because we thought for the price that we paid, the drinks were going to be five stars which unfortunately we couldn't event drink once of them as even though it was pretty, it wasn't tasty at all :(
Address: 55 Drury Street, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland
Atmosphere:
Quite & Modern
5. The Chelsea Drugstore Cocktail Bar, Cocktails, €€
The Chelsea Drugstore is very popular for their drinks now on days so we decided to give it a go. Let us tell you, there is a reason why this place is the number five on the list :(
This time, Kamila mentioned that we were doing a college assignment and that were looking tasting different places so we wanted to get a pretty cocktail. We thought that was enough to put pressure on them and we were expecting a pretty fancy drink. Unfortunately, the drinks were plain, no effort, no decoration, out of the three drinks Ilka could barely drink one of them as it was very strong.
So, we would like to invite you to visit this place if you are looking for a nice Peroni... straight from the bottle :)
Address: 25 South Great George's Street, Dublin 2, D02 XY71
Atmosphere:
Nice & Modern
