Here at Dublin 18 Dental Rooms, we strongly recommend regular dental check-ups for all of our patients. However, dental checks are particularly important for children because their mouths change so quickly over a short time. It is beneficial to ensure these changes are monitored to check for early warning signs of potential oral health issues.
What happens during a check-up?
Check-ups are quick and simple. Our team has many years of experience treating patients of all ages. We understand that dental appointments can be scary for young patients, so we go the extra mile to make the visit enjoyable and stress-free.
Our dentists will examine the child’s mouth thoroughly during a check-up, taking a look at their tongue, gums and cheeks, and teeth. Your child’s notes will contain information about the development of their teeth, where we will record any potential problems or changes in the mouth. If your child requires further treatment, we will schedule a follow-up appointment, and if their teeth are developing as expected, we will arrange another check-up for six months time.
Why are check-ups important for children?
Check-ups are essential for children because they allow dentists to monitor their oral health and identify any problems as early as possible. This means we can address any issues before they get to the stage that could cause the child pain and discomfort. Taking a child to the dentist regularly from an early age also allows them to get used to the sights and sounds of the dental practice and increases the chance of enjoying and practicing good oral health.
