If there is one thing that we are all doing a lot these days is watching our favourite series on Netflix. The only problem is, that if you are anything like us, by this time you almost ran out of ideas of what to watch.

Fear no more, today the Cheernoff girls bring you a list of the best series to watch during quarantine. And what is a good Netflix show without a cocktail? It is still good but it is not the same, right? For this reason we will be matching each series recommendation with a delicious cocktail - our own Netflix series & cocktails combo for all the different likes and tastes, check it out (there are no spoiler alerts, we promise)!

International Series

We love to watch international series as many times they are totally different from the American series that we are all used to. Besides we get to practice our language skills 😜

La Casa de Papel aka Money Heist

This Spanish series is the SERIES. It is about a group of people named after cities to mask their own identities that participate in very organized and cleaver robberies planned by their ingenious leader - El Profesor. The 1st season was aired on Netflix in the end of 2017 and it became so popular that it is now on its 4th season. We have already watched all of the 4 seasons and by now we are almost fluent in Spanish

Cocktail: We suggest you watch this TV show with glass of Sangria 😍

Dark 

This is the 1st German original series produced for Netflix and it is so mysterious that you can't help but to binge watch the 2 available seasons. It is about 2 small children that disappear in a small town and everything seems to be connected to an event that happened many years before in 1966.

Cocktail: So apparently there is a cocktail called Dark n' Stormy, we have never tried it but it seems perfect for this TV show, wouldn't you agree?

This is a Brazilian Netflix series created by Pedro Aguilera where 3% of the population gets to live in excellent living conditions in "Maralto" while the remaining 97% of the population lives in precarious conditions. When citizens turn 18 they get a chance to participate in a series of tests that will determine if they are good enough to live in Maralto. This is a very interesting TV Show that seems to be a metaphor about Brazil itself.

Omniscient 

Omniscient is another great Brazilian series also created by Pedro Aguilera where every single citizen is followed around by a small drone that spies their every movement. There isn't anything that the system doesn't see and every time a crime is committed the alarm sounds, until a man is killed and the system fails to flag it...

Cocktail: Both 3% and Omniscient go well with a Caipirinha 💃

Comedy Series

We all need a bit of cheering up sometimes specially during these hard times and these comedy series are the perfect way to do get in a good mood! 😀

Friends

This is a big classic that explores the lives of 6 adult friends living in Manatthan. We have watched this TV show so many times but still we can't get enough of it! Our favourite character is Joey about yours?

Cocktail: You should pair this TV show with a Manatthan cocktail, of course 👌

How I Met Your Mother

This TV show reminds us very much of Friends and we believe it was inspired by it as it is also about a group of 5 adult friends leaving in NY and Barney's character is similar to Joey in Friends. We loved this series but we were very disappointed with its ending. Nevertheless this is still one of the greatest comedy series out there.

Cocktail: A Cosmopolitan please! 🙋

Jane The Virgin

This series talk about 23 year old virgin Jane Villanueva that is accidentally artificial inseminated and gets pregnant. Jane lives with her mother Xo and her super catholic Venezuelan grandma - Alba Villanueva. It is super funny! Our favourite character is Rogelio de la Vega about yours?

Cocktail: You should watch Jane The Virgin while drinking a Piña Colada, sweet like Jane ✨

Drama Series

Breaking Bad

This is the best TV show we have ever watched. It is about Walter White, a chemistry teacher that discovers that has cancer and decides to get into the meth-making business to repay his medical debts. It is very much worth seeing!

Cocktail: This series is best enjoyed with a Moscow Mule 😏

Stranger Things

Stranger Things is about a bunch of strange events that start happening in a small town starting with the disappearance of young Will. The thing we like the most about this TV show is that its protagonists are children and it is up to them to save the town from the terrible Demogorgon.

Cocktail: The Marshmallow cocktail we once had at Zozimus is great for this show - sweet and childish 🍡

Outlander

I started to watch this series in the beginning of quarantine and I have watched 4 seasons in one month, so I guess it is safe to say that it was a nice surprise. Outlander tells a story of Claire a nurse during the 2nd world war that accidentally travels in time to 1743. This is a super interesting TV show that dives deep into Scotland's history and culture by telling the story in an unusual yet fascinating way.

Cocktail: Old Fashioned as whisky is the Scots drink 💪

Gossip Girl

Ah the old but gold Gossip Girl TV show. Gossip Girl follows the lives of privileged teenagers on the Upper East Side where an anonymous person that entitles themselves "Gossip Girl" post all about their indiscretions and boyyy we were really surprised when we found out their identity! We like this series so much that our XOXO Cheernoff signature was inspired by the XOXO Gossip Girl iconic series signature.

Cocktail: The Pornstar Martini is the most appropriate drink for this scandalous series 😱

The Crown

This biographical series provides a very insightful view into Queen Elizabeth II and the royal family's life as well as the UK history. We very much recommend it!

Cocktail: A fancy Mimosa suits perfectly 👸
