Finding Potential Employers

Depending on the student, you may or may not have a job lined up after graduation. If you do not, that is okay, and there are many things a student can do to increase the chances of landing a job.

  1. Assess your interests, and look for companies that cater to these interests.
  2. When you have found a handful of companies that you are interested in, create a resume that is specific to each company, and explain to them why they would benefit from your work.
  3. Send in the resume, and if you get a call back, prepare to sell yourself in the interview.

Develop Multiple Plans For Housing After Graduation

Many students get so excited about their new career, or stressed about finding a new job, they forget about where they are going to live! Planning for housing after graduation can eliminate a great deal of last minute panic.

Here are some suggestions to get started in this process:

  1. Define a budget and a location (depending on job applications/offers
  2. Search for roommates; can reduce costs drastically, and won’t be lonely!
  3. Search for homes or apartments that meet the requirements to get an understanding of the market.
  4. Narrow down potential options, to see what your money can get for next year!

Final year can be very stressful, but it does not have to be. The key is to tackle these challenge as early as possible. As you now know after years of schooling, waiting until the last minute usually does not yield great results. One thing that can make things easier is making a list of things that need to be done before the year is over. Assign different tasks to different weeks or months, and this may help discourage waiting until the last minute.

Maintaining your grades and GPA is very important. Though you may have job offers and feel on top of the world, it isn’t quite over yet. Use the planning tips previously discussed, and simply do what needs to be done so that you can graduate. The last thing you want is to waste all those years of work to miss graduation and lose job offers.

Lastly, enjoy yourself. This will be your last year as a student, and you should not be stressed (the point of this blog). If you manage your time wisely, your final year could be the best year at university. Go out, have fun, spend time with those you love and care for, and enjoy your last year as a student.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English.
