Best Games to Beat Isolation Boredom on Xbox, Playstation and Wii

There’s no better time than now to start whipping out some of your old (and new) gaming consoles and start perfecting your skills playing solo or challenging your family to a game. Here’s a list of recommended new and old games, guaranteed to pass the time over the next few weeks!

 

1. Red Dead Redemption 1 & 2 (Available on Xbox and PlayStation)

Red Dead Redemption is set in 1911 USA and follows the story of John Marston (the protagonist) a former outlaw in society whose wife and son are taken hostage by the corrupt government in ransom for his serviced as a hired gun man.

2. FIFA 20 (Available on Xbox and PlayStation)

The FIFA gaming series needs no introduction. With the first game being launched in 1993 and annually ever since showcasing the worlds football teams and players both big and small.

3. Forza (Available on Xbox)

Fozra is another gaming series that puts you in the drivers seat and is a must for all car racing lovers.

4. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare (Available on Xbox and PlayStation)

Call Of Duty is a first-person shooter video gaming series which first began in 2003. It initially based its games on World War II but over time has adapted the games for more modern times and even futuristic worlds. Modern Warfare is the latest release by the franchise.

Fortnite is the ultimate survival game where 100 players battle out against one another to be the last one standing with the odd dance move along the way.

6. Simpsons Hit and Run 

This is a childhood favourite of mine! Released in 2003 the games main objective is to hit into as many objects (and even pedestrians) in Springfield and try and out run the police. I and many others hope to see a remastered version of it someday...

7. Crash Bandicoot

Crash Bandicoot was first released in 1996 follows the story of Crash a genetically enhanced bandicoot as he tries to stop Brio and Cortex's plans for world domination and rescue his girlfriend Tawna. crash bandicoot

8. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

Based on J.K Rowling's novel of the same name this video game follows Harry Potter and his friends on life in Hogwarts and all the magic and mystery that entails.

Get semi-active and whip out your old Wii and challenge your family to the following games!

9. Wii Sports

Tennis, golf, boxing and even bowling Wii Sports has it all! Warning this game is highly competitive and might result in some rows in the family.

10. Mario Kart Wii

Finally, we cannot complete this blog post without mentioning Mario Karts. Mario and Luigi hold a special place in most peoples hearts as the first game these brothers appeared in was released in 1985 for PC. They have grown in leaps and bounds since then and so has their group of friends and fiends. Race online or against the family as your favourite character! You will sweat while playing this game especially if you dare to complete Rainbow Road circuit.
