In the current pandemic one, of the most challenging periods of the day is vastly becoming lunch, whether you are juggling the stress of homeschooling your children on top of working from home or one of the many overworked delivery drivers trying to grab food on the go. This leads to a rise in people looking for a quick and nutritious option to provide a tasty, healthy lunch, whether it is deli food from your local Centra or a burrito bowl from Freshii; these options are available to rescue households all over the country when the one o'clock slump hits. The questions left on most peoples' minds when making this choice are; "Is there nutrition in deli food?", "Should I be feeding this to my family?". The answer, of course, there is as long as you make the right choices.

If you are so lucky to have Freshii, Sprouts & Co or Chopped inside your 5K, well, then these are great options for a healthy lunch. You can grab food on the go and not feel guilty, knowing that it is nutritious and tasty, providing a healthy lunch without the stress of having to prepare it yourself. Unfortunately, this is not an option for everyone, so what tips are there for people that don't have a Freshii on their doorstep? Be smart when selecting deli food; avoid the hot counter! Instead, choose more from the salad counter; this is a great way to find the nutrition you are looking for while saving the precious time that has become so rare in the middle of the day.

When choosing your deli food, by avoiding the hot counter, you cut out a lot the processed foods as well as the high-fat pastries. There has often been a stigma around a deli counter, that it can not be good for you, but most shops now provide healthy lunch options within their deli food. One example that has become popular is the burrito bowl, providing good protein and nutrition without the unhealthy aspect people once associated with a deli counter. For those people that have not given these a chance since these new health-conscious menus have been introduced, I highly recommend you do! It could save you valuable time in your busy schedule.

The lunch hour has become so important that the more convenient an option is, the more time you can save for what really matters; perhaps it is the only opportunity to have a chat with your partner, or to help your child with their maths. Maybe this is the time that you could gain five minutes of peace and quiet in the day, so why spend that time preparing lunch when you can have someone do it for you and not feel guilty because it is nutritious and healthy. Gain that five minutes; it is good for your mental health, and there's no reason to feel guilty!
