Lockdown and our Socialising Fix

I hate it, you hate it, and it has only gotten tougher the longer we're in it. We are all at our wits end and in all honestly we all need a few strong shots of socialisation.
But what can we do? I am sooooo bored.
Oh my God please not another Zoom quiz...
Don’t worry! I'm just as sick of Zoom as the next person and I definitely won't be considering quizzes as top tier fun in this list...
I’ve made up a sweet selection of fun lockdown activities you can do with your friends for the low, low price of zilch, sweet nothing, FREE! Yup - FREE GAMES!
Read the list and get the gang back together having fun!
For the activities in this list I would recommend using a group chat application such as Facebook, Discord, WhatsApp, or dare I even say it… Zoom to talk to one another when the app doesn’t have one build in.
What? The game we used to play at each other’s house before the great lockening commenced? How ever could that be played online?
Well don’t you worry pal, this is an online version that if anything is better! No time setting up or putting away cards, no trees cut down for your products, and best of all – its free!
Check it out at pyx-1.pretendyoure.xyz/zy
Max 20 players - but might get a bit hectic if too many play!
- Codenames
Just like our no. 1 slot, this is bringing a great board game to the web and improving it in the process. Ever think you and your best friend can communicate on another level, well put it to the test in this clever game of hints and clues. Guaranteed to give you more than one night’s entertainment!
Available at www.codenames.game
Max 64 players – we'd recommend keeping to below 10
- Watch TV together!
Microwave popcorn, takeaway pizza, and a room of friends ready to watch the newest episode of the latest craze or laugh and chat through a hilariously bad movie. The good old days eh? Well, whilst we can’t be IN the same room, we can share our TV screens, watch the same moments, and have some good chats.
What are you watching this lockdown? We’d love to hear your recommendations in the comments!
Install the Netflix add-on from www.netflixparty.com
Max 50 people
or use Disney Plus’s inbuild “GroupWatch” feature at www.disneyplus.com
Max 7 people
- Scrabble
What it says on the tin. I’ve played it, you’ve played it, now we can play it together and give our minds some brain training instead of watching “The Office” for the fifth time… okay you can have it on in the background... ah screw it lets watch-party it!
Available at www.lexulous.com
Max 4 players
- Texas Hold’em Poker
Feeling lucky? Got a great P-P-P-Poker face? Get a gang together(online), splash some whiskey and ice into a glass, and have a good long poker night.
The best thing about the website we recommend is that it’s got camera and microphone options built in. I found this really helped bring the chill, casual chat-filled atmosphere poker nights with friends in person have. Give it a go!
Available at www.pokernow.club
Max 10 players
- Psych!
You may need some thick skin for this one, but you won’t regret giving it a go… hopefully…
Its a hilarious group game where you all get a prompt involving one or two of those playing, everyone anonymously submits an answer, and everyone votes on the answer they enjoyed most.
Available on Apple and Android devices from the app store.

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wb.goog.ellen.psych&hl=en_IE
Max 20 players
Go forth and Socialise!
Chuck this into your group chat and get organising! …or forward it to the chief organiser in your group - we all have one!
We’ve gone for quality over quantity to sort through all the noise for you and only let you know what’s really worth trying. Give one of these socially distant games or activities a go and let us know how you get on in the comments!
If you disagree with anything on our list or have your own recommendation, we’d love to hear it!
