In this post of AvoChatO, I want to share my customised recipes that make the most delicious, creamy and of course HEALTHY desserts and all with our favourite fruit, AVOCADOS!

Here you will find the ultimate avocado dessert recipes to fill that sweet craving we all get occasionally. After various experimentation of different recipes, I have whittled it down to my top 5 favourites. They are quick and easy to make and despite what you may think, insanely good!

Once you hop on the avocado dessert bandwagon, you will never look back.

🥑DESSERT NO.1

To begin our avocado dessert journey, I am going to start with an all-time favourite.... CHOCOLATE BROWNIES. By including avocado into the mix, you are not only increasing the nutritional content but also contributing to an amazingly creamy and buttery texture (minus the cream and butter). Bring these along to a friend get together or family party but be prepared for the tasty treats to disappear within minutes.

Ingredient:

🥑50 g Cocoa Powder (dark)

🥑½ tsp Bicarbonate of Soda

🥑180g 60% dark chocolate

🥑½ tsp Vanilla Extract

🥑3 eggs

🥑150 g coconut sugar (healthier option)

🥑2 ripe Avocados

🥑70 g Ground Almonds

Directions

🥑Preheat the oven to 190°C (Gas Mark 5 / 375°F).

🥑Break up the chocolate into small pieces and place it in a bowl or saucepan. Then melt in a microwave or on a hob.

🥑Beat the eggs with the coconut sugar in a bowl. Add the melted chocolate, cocoa powder, ground almonds, vanilla extract and the bicarbonate of soda, mix together.

🥑In a separate bowl, mash the avocado until all lumps are removed. Then, add it to the chocolate mixture. Mix thoroughly.

🥑Grease a baking tray and then pour the brownie mix onto the tray making sure it is evenly spread.

🥑Bake for around 35 minutes and leave to cool before eating

(Top AvoChat-O tip: Serve with our avocado and mint Ice-Cream for the perfect dessert).

🥑DESSERT NO.2

My next recipe is Avocado chocolate truffles which are perfect for a midday snack! They are quick and convenient, and you can bring them to school, college or work just in case you get a little peckish. But be careful because once you start, it’s hard to stop!

Ingredients

🥑1 ripe avocado

🥑80g dark chocolate

🥑1/2 tsp vanilla extract

🥑1/4 tsp cinnamon

🥑1 tbsp cocoa powder

Directions

🥑 Put the dark chocolate into a bowl/saucepan and melt in the microwave or on a hob.

🥑In a separate bowl, mash avocado and ensure there are no lumps. Then, pour the melted chocolate into the mashed avocado and stir together. Add in vanilla and cinnamon.

🥑When the ingredients are mixed together, place the bowl in the fridge for 30 minutes.

🥑When cooled and hardened, make the balls with your hands and roll until smooth.

🥑Roll each ball in cocoa powder and store it in a fridge.

(Top AvoChat-O tip: You can alter the truffles by rolling desiccated coconut or crushed nuts on the outer layer of the ball. This will give your truffles more variety and make them look more fun!)

🥑DESSERT NO.3

Now moving onto the 3rd dessert ... avocado and mint ICE CREAM! We all love this sweet treat especially on a hot summer’s day. It’s hard to resist the cool and refreshing dessert when you are basking in the sun. So, wouldn't it be great if it wasn't full of empty kilo calories? With summer looming, this is the ideal dessert to put on the MUST bake list!

Ingredients

🥑 1 can of coconut milk (refrigerated overnight)

🥑2 ripe avocados

🥑1 ripe banana (frozen)

🥑3 tbsp maple syrup

🥑2 tbsp lemon juice

🥑4-5 large mint leaves.

Directions:

🥑Add the peeled and pitted avocado to a blender

🥑Scoop out the solid part of the coconut milk and place it in the blender.

🥑Then add the frozen banana, maple syrup, lemon juice and mint leaves.

🥑Blend until the mixture is smooth and cream.

🥑Pour the mixture into a lunch box or loaf pan and spread it out evenlyThen place it in the freezer for at least 5 hours or overnight.

🥑Before serving, let the ice cream slightly defrost for about 10 minutes.

(Top AvoChat-O tip: Blend the ingredients as quickly as you can in order to avoid large ice crystals from forming. Fast churning also allows more air to enter the mixture which results in better freezing and super smooth ice cream).

🥑 DESSERT NO.4

The 4th dessert is our Avocado Mousse! This treat is perfect for after dinner and it's also super easy to make. Its texture and scrumptious taste make it hard to believe that it could be healthy, but it really is! So why not try out this amazingly appetizing treat that comes with no guilt feeling afterwards.

Ingredients:

🥑4 ripe avocados

🥑3 tbsp maple syrup/honey

🥑2 tbsp cocoa powder

🥑1 tsp vanilla extract

🥑Strawberries/Raspberries

Directions

🥑Put all the ingredients except the strawberries/raspberries into a blender and mix until smooth.

🥑Place the mixture in a bowl and then either put the strawberries or raspberries on top.

🥑Store in a fridge.

(Top AvoChat-O tip: Ensure the avocados are VERY ripe because no one wants lumps and bumps in their mousse).

🥑DESSERT NO.5

Finally, my Lemon and Lime Avocado cake is extremely refreshing and perfect if you’re having friends around for afternoon tea. The combination of these two citrus fruits create a zesty flavour with a mild sweet tang and the crumbly base adds a soft crunch to the smooth and fruity mousse. If you want to explore beyond chocolate desserts, then this is the perfect choice for you.

Ingredients:

🥑Base layer

🥑 300g nuts (your choice)

🥑100g pitted dates

🥑2 tbsp coconut oil

🥑2 Tbsp cocoa powder

🥑Mousse Layer

🥑Zest and juice 1 lemon

🥑Zest lime

🥑3 ripe avocados

🥑7 tbsp honey

🥑10 tbsp coconut oil

Directions:

🥑Using parchment paper, line the base of a 15cm circular tin.

🥑Using a food processor, mix the nuts, dates and cocoa powder until they appear like breadcrumbs

🥑Melt the coconut oil and combine with the mixture.

🥑Put the mixture into the tin and ensure it is spread out evenlyZest both the lime and lemon and place it in the food processor. Then add the lemon juice.

🥑Add the avocado, honey and coconut oil and mix the contents together. If you want it sweeter, add extra honey, if you want a more citrus taste, then add more lemon and lime zest.

🥑Pour the mix on top of the base and spread evenly. Then, place it in the fridge for 2.5 hours before eating.

(Top AvoChat-O tip: If you want the smoothest and creamiest mousse layer, then having the ingredients at room temperature is the secret trick, as it allows the mixture to combine effortlessly).
