1. Binge watch a series on Netflix
While there are plenty of movies on Netflix, there is no better way to waste time than binging a gripping series that will give you endless hours or days of enjoyment. We recommend the new Netflix originals The Stranger or Safe or go for an old classic and binge watch Suits or Stranger Things. For a more light-hearted watch how about Sex Education, Cheer, Derry Girls or everyone’s favourite, Friends?
2. Board Games
Granted not everyone has board games at home anymore, if you do, lucky you! Get your family and friends around and grab a game of Cluedo! If you don’t, we are spoiled for choice of online games. Solitaire is always a great option if you’re playing solo and there’s many different websites/apps of solitaire to choose from! One of our personal favourite apps is Psych. Test your friendships and see how well you really know your friends with this fun game!
3. Movies
Why not reminisce on your childhood, gather a few friends and have a Harry Potter Marathon?! These 8 Harry Potter movies will have you glued to the TV for hours. If you haven't already seen them, you've been living under a rock.
4. Books (or e-books)
There’s no better time than now to dust off that book you got for Christmas that you promised yourself you’d read! Swap around books with friends and family if you don’t want to go out and buy a brand new book. Some of our favourites are The Tattooist of Auschwitz or Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine.
5. At Home Workouts
There is no better use of spare time than doing some at home workouts. While being cooped up inside, it's still important to move your body and stay healthy. Look up a youtube video and follow along! You will need none or minimal equipment which can be found around the house. Some of our personal favourites are Kayla Itsines, Sarahsday and Blogilates.
6. Learn a musical instrument
Why not use this spare time you wouldn’t usually have to learn a valuable skill like playing a musical instrument or brush up on what you’ve already learned? It’s common for households to have a guitar or piano lying around so why not teach yourself a tune or two. It won’t only provide endless fun for yourself but will also entertain the rest of the family!
7. Spring cleaning
With all this free time stuck at home, take this opportunity to go through your belongings and declutter. It is the perfect time to get rid of anything you don’t need.
