Everyone needs a quick and easy snack here and there.

Something to satisfy that craving!

Why not make it healthy too? Keep you on track.

 

1) PITA POCKET

The pita pocket is a perfect snack that can be made with so many different variations depending on what you have in the fridge, whether you’re a vegetarian or not, and if you want sweet or savory.

A Greek pita pocket:

  • grilled chicken
  • cucumber

  • grape tomatoes
  • feta cheese

Pita pockets are perfect for any quick lunch, snack, or dessert. They are also great for meal prep – just chop and cook up all the ingredients so that they are ready to throw together easily throughout the week. Pack all the ingredients together like a salad and bring the pitas to work or school for easy assembly.

 

2) Banana Almond Flax Smoothie

Smoothies are the perfect on the go all in one meals. They are easy and can be made with whatever ingredients you have on hand.

Also, who doesn’t love when something healthy tastes like dessert?

 

 

Ingredients:

  • Almond butter
  • Bananas
  • Ground flax seeds
  • Unsweetened almond milk
  • Plain Greek yogurt
  • Honey or syrup

For a colder smoothie slice and freeze bananas beforehand.

Pop all the ingredients in a blender and this delicious smoothie is ready in seconds!

 

 

3) Protein Balls

Again, protein balls can also be made with many variations and alternatives. They are the perfect snack that might not be the healthiest option out there but definitely much better for you than a cookie or croissant. These are a homemade alternative to store-bought protein bars. They are cheap, easy, and filling!

The base protein ball recipe:

 old-fashioned rolled oats – adds the perfect texture for a no bake recipe

 nut butter – choose a nut butter that is not to thick so that is easy to mix. Peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter, etc. even sunflower butter or tahini works if you are allergic to nuts

 honey – a little sweetener is important to balance the flavor. Or try maple syrup or agave syrup

 protein powder – this ingredient is definitely optional and the kind that you would like to use is also up to you! To keep it healthy I recommend a plant-based, organic protein powder

 

 

Now for the fun part! Add any of the following ingredients to the above base mixture to create your favourite protein balls:

- chocolate chips

- shredded coconut

- cinnamon

- raisins

- cranberries

- vanilla

- chia seeds

- hemp hearts

- flax seeds

4) Caprese Skewers

ITS AS EASY AS ABC

a. Thread bocconcini, tomatoes, and basil leaves on small skewers or toothpicks

b. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar

Caprese salad is Italian. If you want to be very fancy, you can call these Caprese Antipasto - Italian for appetizer!

 

 

 

Caprese skewers are extremely simple but also very elegant. They involve no cooking and yet are the perfect appetizers for any occasion!

5) Avocado Toast

Yes! It has been a viral craze all over the world

BUT I think it is here to stay. Avocado toast is too good to go out of style.

Many may think of this as a breakfast food but why not eat breakfast at any time of the day??

Like many of my other recipes, avocado toast can be made in tons of different ways. GET CREATIVE!

Also, avocado toast can be as simple and as fancy as you want! Perfect for your child’s breakfast or for afternoon tea with the ladies.
