Confinement is not an easy thing to live with, all generations combined. However, among young people, isolation is all the more pronounced as they have had to give up their campus life on the one hand, and their student flat on the other, in order to return to live with their parents.
We know the importance of social ties among students, whether it is with their teacher or their classmate. We, young people, are not made to live a life in our quarantine. So, here are a few tips to better live your confinement and to be able to enjoy your friends even from a distance:
1) The " ApéroZoom”:
You probably already know it. It consists in meeting by videoconference (Skype, Zoom, Google Meet...) in order to enjoy a moment together.
These videoconference aperitifs are a bit confusing because everyone is talking in all directions and it's complicated to communicate. However, what a pleasure to see all of us together, to see that we don't forget each other and that whether we are confined or not, we always have the same team?
My advice here: schedule these aperitifs on a weekly basis. On the one hand because it will help to structure your schedule during the quarantine period (and this is important not to lose face), on the other hand because each week will increase your creativity (indeed, you will be able to be inspired by what your friends do during their free time and apply it to yours). Finally, it's super fun.
For the more adventurous among us, the aperitif can be transformed into a dinner so you can prolong the moment while having a great time. What are you waiting for?
2) Getting back in touch with old friends.
Confinement gives us time, time to do lots of things we would never have thought of before. For example, in addition to keeping in touch with your friends during confinement, couldn't we try to call old friends from school that we hadn't talked to for a while?
Here, the advice is simple: grab your mobile phone and look at your contacts, your best friend from childhood probably has a lot to tell you and you too.
Two advantages: Firstly, you will surely be very happy after this call, you, like your childhood friend, needed it, and you helped each other. Secondly, the calls will quickly become very long (1h? 2h? 3h?), so there would be less time to fill in on a restricted day.
3) Diversify your meetings.
At the beginning, I told you to contact each other by zoom. Besides, there are many more ways than you can imagine to be able to enjoy and laugh with friends despite the distance.
These are the multiplayer games:
wolfy.com: this game takes up the well-known werewolves of Millers Hollow with new characters and new roles. You have the possibility to play with strangers but also to play only with friends.
Skribbl.io: the online Pictionary that allows you to have a good laugh with all your friends again. Watch out! Some artistic talents could be revealed.
Among Us: I won't present it to you anymore.
A non-exhaustive list follows, it's up to you to be creative. Of course, if you have a PS4, you can also play video games online.
4) Endless ideas.
Tiktok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, challenge each other!
Netflix, start a series with a buddy and debrief it live, you can quickly go for a laugh.
Together with your friends, tell yourselves: one day, one theme, the right outfit. The principle is simple: you note down the outfit that best suits the theme. An added advantage: you don't have to spend the whole day in your pyjamas.
There's no shortage of ideas. All you have to do is stimulate your creativity. But that's not always easy. I'm writing this for people who have run out of inspiration: just know that we're all in the same situation, so let's help each other. And in these moments, those close to you are essential, keep in touch with them.
