Craving Dublins Guide: Best Pizza in Dublin

There’s so much choice when it comes to the greatest food of all time (pizza duh) so we thought we would make it easier for you. We just love doing that 😉

Drumroll please.. this is Craving Dublin’s guide to the best pizza spots in Dublin.

  1. Coming in at number one is Rita’s. Their motto? no fuss, just pizza – they do one thing but they do it oh so well. A new favourite in Ranelagh and it has certainly made an impression with gas names for their pizzas and good value for money. Rita’s was opened by a couple of Cork lads who picked up their skills while working in Naples and came home to incorporate the best Irish ingredients they could find. You need to try this place. Open for takeaway now.

2. Up next we have Paulie's Pizza. Located on Grand Canal Street, this very popular place has something for everyone (vegan options too). Serving up the most delicious authentic wood fired pizzas. Paulie's use a traditional wood fired oven to deliver that quality pizzaas well as some of the finest ingredients imported from Italy (and locally sourced produce too). And oh my god we cannot forget about those sensational dips – chilli, oregano and nduja mayo – it doesn’t get better than that. Call and collect available now.

3. Next we have PI which has been labelled the ‘perfect’ pizza (deservingly, we think). I have yet to walk past this place and not see a queue of about 15 hungry people waiting to get in. PI uses flour imported from Naples for their dough, all the Irish veggies for that sauce, and top Irish artisan cheese from around the country. It really is quality stuff. Did you know it’s been named the 7th best pizza in the world? And they’re doing takeaway?? The absolute dream.

  1. The incredibly popular Basil is up next. Down in Ringsend, you will find some of the best authentic pizza Dublin has to offer. And since march, it is back open for takeaway and delivery. Basil is a really funky spot. One of the best things about it is that the pizzas are amazing value (€7-10). And for when normal life resumes – basil offers cheap (€5 bottle of wine, €1 beer) BYO if you fancy. Basil is the ideal spot to balm out some summer evening with the stunning outdoor seating and lanterns, here is hoping we can do that this year. In the meantime, order order order.

5. Finally we have Cirillos. Located on Baggot street, this is one of the top quality authentic pizzas (and other Italian deliciousness) places. Their impressive pizza oven was imported from Naples for which they use a blend of Irish oak and ash - that charred crust though. Their signature pizza is a carbonara pizza – mozzarella, egg, guanciale and black pepper. Sensational. It’s a short menu but it really is simple food done well. If that wasn’t enough to convince you, Cirillos was recently voted one of the top pizzas in Europe – that’s good enough for us.

Honourable mentions: Base, Dublin Pizza Co, Uno.

So go on guys and gals, treat yourselves. You deserve it.

Because 🍕 = ❤️
