COVID REGULATION IN IRELAND

Faced with the current pandemic situation, the government has decided to impose health measures in order to reduce as much as possible the risks of contamination in the breasts of their populations. These measures apply to all persons residing on the territory and must be respected. The regulations are intended to protect you, protect other people, reduce the spread of infection and bring the epidemic to an end as soon as possible. So you should follow public health advice to protect yourself and others, including advice on social distancing.

Barrier gestures are essential

In order to remind people as best as possible of the habits that they must adopt to mitigate this epidemic, reminders are disseminated in the media and also posted in various places in the cities. Commonly known as barrier gestures, it is essential to apply them to avoid any transmission of Covid 19.

Measure currently in place.

The Government has introduced measures to control the spread of COVID-19.

You should follow public health advice to protect yourself and others, including advice on social distancing.

On 23 February 2021, the Government introduced a revised plan to manage COVID-19 called ‘COVID-19 Resilience and Recovery 2021: The Path Ahead’.

The plan continues to set out 5 levels of restrictions. Level 1 has the fewest restrictions and Level 5 has the most. The level that applies to each county depends on the current COVID-19 situation in that county. For more information on the different levels see Plan for living with COVID-19.

Level 5 in Ireland What it's it ?

Ireland is on Level 5 until 5 April 2021. 

There is many obligation that persons have to respect.

- You cannot receive visitors in your home. Some people who are at risk of isolation may designate another household to mix with. This is called a bubble of support. Who would then take care to improve and maintain social ties. the 2 households can meet indoors, even though they do not live together.

Sports and exercise

Gyms, leisure centres and pools must close.

No indoor or outdoor exercise group activities, including those involving children.

No training or matches should take place except professional elite sports, horse-racing and greyhound racing behind closed doors.

 As for exercise, it is possible to exercise within a radius of 5 km from your home. It's essential to maintain good mental and physical health in these complicated times

Work at home

- Work from home, unless your work is an essential service that cannot be done at home.must stay within 5km of your home.

You should not travel unless it is:

  • For food shopping
  • To travel to and from essential work
  • To attend medical appointments and get medical supplies
  • For vital family reasons such as providing care
  • To attend disability day services
  • To attend a wedding or funeral
  • To farming

- You must not go to other households, except for essential needs.

- You may meet people from another household outside when you exercise.

- Schools are closed, (except for special primary schools and special classes in ordinary primary and post-primary schools).

- Day care centres are closedlly.

- Only essential retail shops can open.

- Bars, cafés and restaurants are closed, except for take-out and deliveries.

- Restrictions apply to travel within Ireland and abroad.

A Garda can give you a fixed charge notice of €100 for travelling without a reasonable excuse.

By law, you must quarantine when you arrive into Ireland. It does not apply if your journey starts in Northern Ireland.

Travel abroad

You must only travel abroad if it is essential to do so. The permitted reasons for travelling abroad are set out in Statutory Instrument 29 of 2021 (pdf).
You must complete a passenger location form
You must have proof of a negative COVID-19 test (PCR) when you arrive in Ireland from a country other than Northern Ireland. The test must have been carried out no later than 72 hours before your arrival. On arrival you must present all of these documents

You can be fined €500 for unnecessary travel abroad.

Fines and fixed penalty notices

For certain offences, you can be fined a fixed amount. A Garda can give you a fixed penalty notice. If you do not pay it within 28 days, you can be prosecuted in court.if you do not comply with the above rules fines may be imposed by the authorities.

 

All those restrictions, as i said bedore permit to reduce the high degree of contamination that ireland had. The COVID-19 pandemic means that many of us are staying at home and doing less in terms of social interactions and exercise. It's very difficult and this can have a negative effect on your physical and mental health.
