This film is based on a true story and the casting is just unbelievable: with Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks playing the two lead roles, and John Williams composing the music for the film, the masterpiece was assured.
2. “Home Alone”, by Chris Colombus (1990)
The McCallister family flies to Paris for the Christmas holidays. On board, the mother Kate McCallister realizes that she and the entire family have left 8-year-old Kevin at home.While his family tries to help him from Paris, Kevin is very happy to be rid of his family, which he sometimes finds difficult to bear. He then enjoys a quiet life, shopping for himself and thinking he is definitely alone; but he doesn't know that two burglars are planning to empty the house on Christmas Eve. He finally becomes aware of the burglary and will have to thwart the plans of these two individuals to protect his house...
This comedy will definitely make you laugh, and for the fans, 4 other films were released for the rest of the story: “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” (1992), “Home Alone 3: There’s a new kid one the block” (1997), “Home Alone 4: Taking back the house” (2003), “Home Alone 5: The Holiday Heist” (2012) … And if it is not enough, a 6th film is excepted for December 2021! 3. “Dance with Wolves”, by Kevin Costner (1990)
He decides to stay there to wait for reinforcements that will never arrive. Only, not far from his camp resides an Indian tribe of Sioux, whose relations with the so-called «civilized» are conflicting, made of mistrust and mutual fear.
Will he survive in this hostile environment?
This western received 7awards at the Oscar ceremony (for more information, click here). It will fill you with emotions. And what a chance to have much time to kill during this pandemic, that movie is almost 4hours long (3h 54min). Enough to make a wonderful evening!
