5 tips to balance Homeschooling and Working From Home

This is no easy task believe me! I have 3 boys under 12 and they are full of energy!  They like to know what is happening and are always asking what are we doing today?? So I've put together a list of 5 tips I’d like to share from the last 3 weeks homeschooling and working from home at the same time:

  1. Schedule, schedule, schedule!

Start time … agree a time where they must be washed, dressed, breakfast eaten and at their workspace
Break time … they will need them! Make sure they come back to the table after the break!
Review time … agree a specific time to review their school work
End time … Tidy their books into a pile at the end of the day, school is finished and its time to do other things

  2. Review
At the beginning of the day, ask your child to read over the work they have been assigned for the day. Questions should be asked at that time, to avoid interruptions you when you’re working.

  3. No technology at the table!
If they need to look something up for school, schedule the time into their day. We all know how easy it is to get distracted

  4. Get rechargeable batteries
That way their controllers will be juiced up for their for break time. Remember to plug in spent batteries to charge overnight.

  5. Noise Cancelling Headphones
Use a large headset with music to drown out the fighting. Make sure they know that when the headset is on, you can not be disturbed :-)
