The independent coffee shops scene in particular is flourishing as a whole new generation has become emerged in the café culture. Widely regarded as the crème de la crème of Dublin’s speciality coffee scene, 3fe has become somewhat of an institution for all coffee lovers in Dublin. Located just outside the city centre close to St. Stephens Green, the café also owns a roastery which supplies many of other leading coffee shops in Dublin with high quality beans. The shops also has a food menu which although not extensive, has many favourites such as chorizo hash and avocado toast.
Clements & Pekoe
Like 3fe, Clement & Pekoe has built up somewhat of a cult following in recent years due to its exquisite brews and homely vibes. They carry a range of speciality coffee from both local and internationally renowned coffee roasters. But don’t worry; if coffee isn’t your thing they also have a massive tea selection with over 50 teas from around the world. Unlike some of the other shops on this list they do not sell any brunch or lunch options, however they do sell a variety of delicious baked treats – their peanut butter brownies are a must try for anyone with a sweet tooth!
Two Fifty Square
Unlike the previous two shops on the list, this coffee shops is located outside of the city centre in the leafy suburb of Rathmines. However the journey is absolutely worth it with incredible coffee, all of which is roasted in house. While serving all the capitals classics, Two Fifty Square also serves more speciality style brews such as AeroPress and V60 filter coffee, Vietnamese iced coffee and affogato. In addition to the delicious coffee, they also serve delicious brunch options with sweet and savoury pancakes, and Spanish eggs just some of the food choices on offer.
The Cake Café
As the name suggest, this one is more than just a coffee shop! Nestled just behind The Last Bookshop, one of Dublin most unique bookstores, the cake café is true to its name by serving some of the most delicious sweet bakes you’re ever likely to taste, all of which can be washed down by a delicious cup of Joe! Groundstate Coffee
Located in Dublin 8, Groundstate coffee is the perfect place to go to enjoy a weekend brunch with your friends. The café (which doubles up as a yoga studio at night) some of the best brunch food in the city with the roasted miso potato with wilted Irish kale being our personal favourite! But trust us, it is worth going for the coffee alone, which features a changeable menu which you’re sure to enjoy!
