Socializing in Dublin: 5 New Spots Not to Miss Out On!

For those who like to socialize over a glass of wine or two, a delicious meal or even a quick cup of coffee, it can be tricky to narrow down your choices and figure out where to go as Ireland’s vibrant capital offers a wide variety.

In recent months, there has been a number of new openings popping up around Dublin that are the perfect choice for your next socializing event!

Here are the top five new spots that are a must add to your list:

 

1. The Sin Bar

Location: ​The Mont, 1-4 Merrion Street Lower, Dublin 2​, Ireland

Are you a sporting fan and enjoy meeting up with your friends to watch a match? Then The Sin Bar is the place for you. Opened last Autumn and located in the heart of Merrion Square, all major sporting events are screened here whether its GAA, rugby or soccer.

It boasts two large HD screens and a projector making it the ideal place to relax and unwind as a sports lover. This stylish sport bar also offers signature cocktails, craft beer and delicious food.

Location: Talbot Street

Catch up on the cards but you don’t want to leave your beloved pet behind? Well look no further! Fat sandwich opened its doors last January to people AND their dogs. A brilliant place that serves fresh quality seasonal food using locally sourced ingredients. Now both you and your pet can socialize in a relaxed and inviting space together.

 

3. BrewDog

Location: Ground floor of the Capital Dock Building in Grand Canal Dock

Just opened in December of 2019, it became the 100th ‘BrewPub’ to open its doors globally. The venue features an on-site microbrewery, large outside terrace and heated roof garden, Olympic-sized shuffleboards and two bars, each featuring 30 taps

For those keen to gain some knowledge about brewing, there is a Beer School area where you can sample and taste different brews and learn about the process.There is also a fabulous food menu that includes burgers, pizzas, salads, buffalo wings as well as vegan options.

Like Fat Sandwich mentioned above, BrewDog also welcomes pets in their outlets with dog treats and ‘dog-friendly’ beer sold so everyone gets to be included!

 

4. The Wine Pair

Location: 79 Clanbrassil Street Lower, Dublin 8

Opened at the end of last year, The Wine Pair offers well-priced wine paired with cheese, bread, meats, olives and almonds within a causal, laid-back and friendly environment.

The drinks menu consists of an array of wines both organic and natural of European descent. A real winner about this place is that there is a wine shop and corkage on anything off the shelf is €10, which is an absolute steal!

There are also take-away wines on tap available in 500ml or 1 litre refillable bottles, a great option if you’re looking for a night in with your friends spent catching up over some great quality wine.

 

5. Ava Dublin

Location: Duke Street

Last but not least is Ava Dublin, a new rooftop bar located just off the Grafton Street area. Set to open in late April, the venue will offer five bars, a restaurant, a function space and a private event space.

The rooftop area will be able to hold up to 300 people so there is no shortage of space for you and all your friends. With incredible views of Dublin city centre and its busiest shopping area, a vibrant and zestful atmosphere is guaranteed. A must visit for those long summer evenings that are just around the corner!
